Other places to visit:

Peace Palace

It is the seat of the International Court of Justice, the Permanent Court of Arbitration and other institutions. Some of the most important cases in the world are held here. At first glance, this building already has a spectacular and dazzling appearance. Financed by American Andrew Carnegie, this Gothic and neoclassical building began in 1907. Its materials come from around the world: marble from Italy, wood from Brazil and the United States, and ornamental iron railings from Germany. The building can be toured with guided tours available on its website.

Mauritshuis

Many tourists travel to Mauritshuis: it is the most visited central museum in The Hague with works by the main Dutch painters such as Frans Hal, Van Rijn, Johannes Vermeer and more. The building is located on the banks of the Hofvijver near the parliament of the Netherlands, the Binnenhof. Book your tickets on the museum website to plan your visit!

Plein

Ideal for a sunny afternoon. It is a square surrounded by trees and old buildings. Ideal for making plans as it is surrounded by attractive bars and restaurants and there is always something to do or see.

Grote Markt

A few steps from the cathedral is the Grote Markt which is the main square of The Hague. It may surprise you, as it is more compact than many market squares in other European cities. However, what it lacks in size, it makes up for in atmosphere. The square is surrounded by bars, cafes and discos, so it is usually full of people, especially on weekends. Events are regularly held in the center of the square throughout the year.
